**THE FOLLOWING POSTS HAS MANY MANY SPOILERS! I WARN YOU!**
So. The ever-so awaited sequel Saw V came out last friday. Of course, I had to go see it right after school. (Saw V at 5:00)
I bought my Saw V ticket "legally" (that word is just thrown around these days...)
So. This movie.
HOLY FLOPPING TITTIES OF DOOM! I mean...it was lovely. You have to watch the first 4 to really understand what this is all about, but if you are an obsessive, devoted fan like I am, it will rock your socks and you will saw-gasm with the rest of us. (Yes, that's right...saw-gasm...)
Detective Strahm is the last detective/policeman alive that isn't corrupt or part of Jigsaw's sick games. He is on the trail of Detective Hoffman, who is the newly revealed Jigsaw apprentice.
In this movie, we learn about his involvement and why he is part of this mixed up world.
We see just a snippit of Jill Tuck (Jiggy's ex-wife (who's a babe)) get a box as the last thing he leaves her in his will. She opens the box and walks out of the room very suspiciously. Thanks to the lovely people on the Saw V boards at IMDb.com (LOVE YOU GUYS) a scene was shown that wasn't in the movie where Jill has the box and says "I know who you are" which was directed at Hoffman (see the movie and you'll get it...) and then she walks down a hall where we see tons of pictures of people with tapes under them. So obvious she's the apprentice...but anyway.
We then go to these 5 people that are put into a trap. They are said to be connected. Just watch the clip. "Saw V Neck Tie Trap" so...if you didn't care to watch that, then you fail. (I'm going on without you...)
The twist of this movie is that normally, all the people put into the traps are losers like druggies, murderers, rapists, and such. (etc, etc) but this movie, high class people are put into traps. Contractors, journalists, city planners, and real estate agents. (Not so much the arsonist drug addict, but wutevs.)
So. Anyway, the movie continues showing these 5 people go one by one dying off like flies until the grand finale trap where they learn they could've saved eachother by following the rules and working together. (teamwork) The movie also continues with Strahm trying to catch Hoffman for the monster he is, while Hoffman is setting up Strahm to make it look like he's the real apprentice. (Tug-o-war.)
The movie ends with Strahm thinking he's sneaky, trying to kill Hoffman...he's not. He ends up dying (squishy squishy) and Hoffman having the last (living) laugh.
Saw VI comes out next October. I shall be counting the days.
*saw-gasm*
